ASWT attended the recent Woodworking Show in NJ

After a two year pause in shows due to mandatory cancellations of large gatherings due to Covid, The Woodworking Shows returned to NJ at a new venue and the ASWT was there!

We were provided a very spacious booth at the NJ Convention Center in Edison by the show organizers allowing us to demonstrate the craft of turning to any attendee who was interested. Our booth had 4 lathes running pretty much the entire  time the show was open. Each lathe was operated by different club members who volunteered throughout the show hours. Jody Forbes, our Vice President worked hard to make sure the booth had lots of member volunteers throughout the 3 day show, as well as coordinating the set up and take down of the booth. Our members all contributed their time and knowledge to make sure the booth was interesting to showgoers. Some of our members also assisted the organizers and volunteered their time at the Pen Turning Booth, where all profits from the Pen Turning Booth were donated to The Tunnels To Towers fund.

ASWT has been involved with The Woodworking Show for a number of years, demonstrating the art of woodturning to anyone who attended the show. Our booth this year highlighted a number of our member turners making various items like tops, wooden bowls, and a few illuminated light houses. We also had a display case in the booth showing creations by a number of our members, each a unique handmade object created on a lathe.
