Club News

After a pause for a few years due to Covid, the Woodworking Shows returned to NJ during February.
The show highlighted local clubs as well as national vendors and the ASWT was there!

On Saturday, June 18th, a group of our members met at the church to start work on the new training area provided to us by the Church. This new space, brought about by the generous offer by the Church Elders, allows us to utilize the first floor in the building at the rear of the church parking lot. Work is now done!

The recent Wig Stand Challenge was a featured article in the August 2021 AAW Magazine! Our effort to deliver wig stands to the Breast Cancer Resource Center in Princeton, NJ is covered on page 14 of the magazine.

The AAW magazine is published throughout the year and issued to all AAW members, as well as being sold in most booksellers like Barnes and Noble in the Crafts Section of their magazine area.

The Atlantic Shore Woodturners have again chosen the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Princeton, NJ as a selected charity to contribute to. The BCRC provides free supplies and counseling to anyone who is fighting the challenge of breast cancer. We were pleased to be able to deliver 22 custom designed wood wig stands to the BCRC for our 2022 contribution.

The Atlantic Shore Woodturners continued our charity project work despite the Covid restrictions through partnering with the Breast Cancer Resource Center in Princeton, NJ to donate wig stands for cancer survivors.

The club also partnered with the North Jersey Woodturners to deliver over 75 beautiful wig stands to the BCRC for distribution to cancer survivors.

Members created wig stands that were functional but beautiful out of various woods and materials. We believe this will be an annual event for the club!
