November 2024 Challenge - Sea Urchin Ornaments

I had watched part 2 last night for about the 10th time in prep for turning today.  This challenge is def a challenge to me.  Cindy makes it seem so easy.   

1 mangled blank and one semi decent ornament so far for me

I found these two Cindy Drozda videos on You Tube about making a sea urchin ornament. Part I is the prep of the shell; Part II is turning the finial. I watched both and I think they are excellent.

This is going to be a great challenge. 

As mentioned at the meeting, Cindy Drozda is doing a live Demo online this Sat 12th at 1pm est “ornaments with finials” for $20.   She records them and you get to watch for 6 months if you can’t attend.  Information on page below

November’s challenge is to turn a sea urchin or other type of Christmas ornament. The Choices are endless. If you chose a sea urchin ornament, the challenge is to turn a long and thin finial. If you chose a traditional ornament, it could be a small birdhouse, tree shaped, in-side-out, bell shaped, hollow form, or snowman. Sea Urchin shells can be purchased from California Seashell Company or Amazon.
