Segmented Turning

Segmented jig

Over the last couple of years I have been making segmented bowls and would like to pass on a tip.

I don’t recommend making a adjustable sled. I primarily cut 32 segment when I make a bowl and it’s imperative that the angle is absolutely correct. If you fool around with adjusting the angle all the time you are going to lose the perfect cut. My tip is to make individual sleds for different segments. It’s hard enough to get the perfect angle and when you get it DONT TOUCH IT. It’s nice that when you pick up a sled you know the angle you want is true.
