Haven't turned a kit pen in some time, so while I wait for my dies and taps, I thought I would turn something. Dug in my pen stores and found a nice gun metal Vertex Click pen kit. I matched it with a Burgundy Madreperlato resin blank I bought some time ago. Madreperlato is a higher end resin made in Italy, principally for commercial markets.
I like the Madreperlato blanks, they are easy to turn in that they are not subject to chipping like some acrylics, they take a really nice finish if you sand and polish it fully (wet sand up to 32000 then polish with Novus 1, then buff out with blue rouge) and then treat the completed pen to a good buff with carnauba wax.
I'm happy with this one!
