I have spent lots of time updating and reconfiguring the ASWT website, from the home page to the forums, Lots of new stuff! I've focused heavily on the forums on the website, including this one, the Pen Turning thread. Please take a look at the newly formatted forums section on the website. The new format provides new forums, combines some old ones together, and provides a different way for you to communicate with a forum. The forum pages now act as bi-directional communications devices - meaning you can post a thread on a forum and all members of the forum will be emailed a copy of your post during the day.
You can set your own profile information to select either the threads you want to participate in, or you can opt out of any forum on a subject you do not wish to be involved in. Your choice. You can also choose how you want the forum to communicate with you - via email or not, and if by email, how often you will get emails from the forum and what it will send. You can get a simple notice of a new post in the forum, or you can ask for a digest of all posts, or a copy of the whole post word for word. You set it up and control it in your forum profile.
This thread - Penturning - will focus on all types of pen making - from simple stick pens from Bic refills, kit pens, or fully 'home grown' pens. At this time, the forum covers all writing types - fountain pens, rollerballs, ball points, or pencils.
