Doug Cummings will demonstrate the turning of a cedar birdhouse. The demonstration will include the jigs and fixtures that Doug made to cut the staves, glueing techniques, and the chucks he made to hold the pieces on he lathe.
This month we will have the pleasure of listening to John Puckhaber speak about "Negative Rake Scrapers". What are they you ask? Come to the meeting and find out.
If time permits he will also speak about the various methods of holding/securing wood on the lathe using chucks, spur drives, etc.
We will also have a recap of the Woodworking Show in Somerset.

This month we are having an "OPEN TURNING NIGHT". This is where the members learn how to turn a bowl, a pen, sharpen your tool, etc. If you are interested in sharpening please bring your own tools and be prepared to learn how to sharpen them.
Reminder: If you haven't already paid your yearly dues please take care of it at the meeting.
This month's meeting John Puckhaber will give us an overview on lathe maintenance. He will also review several styles of chucks that are available. He will demonstrate how to keep your lathe fine tuned so that it is always ready to go.
This month we will be having a "Show & Tell". So please bring in something you turned for the holidays or anything else you would like to share with the club.
We will also be holding elections for officers.
We will be collecting dues for 2017. $35.00 per person.
