Calendar


Our club meets on the second Tuesday of each month (except July and August), at the Holy Family Parish Center (the white building at the corner of East County Line Road (Rt. 526) and Ridge Ave.), in Lakewood, NJ.

The meetings start with a social half-hour at 7:00 PM. The business portion of the meetings start promptly at 7:30 PM, so be sure to arrive on time!

Occasionally, we have special guests, who give demonstrations or presentations on techniques related to woodturning. Makes sure to check this page frequently, to get the latest updates.


Upcoming Events:

  • March 9, 2010 - The monthly meeting. Sal Straniero will demonstrate turning pepper grinders. Check out this picture from his gallery page, for examples of his work.

  • March 27, 28, 2010 - Totally Turning, 2010 will be held in Saratoga Springs, NY. This symposium will be a part of “Showcase” which is a very large and excellent woodworking symposium.  Attendees will have full access to both Totally Turning and Showcase.  There will be World class demonstrators there, including David Ellsworth, Kurt Herzog, and Jean-Francois Escoulen.  For more information, visit their website.  

  • April 13, 2010 - The monthly meeting. Barry Gross will be demonstrating pen making and finishing techniques.

  • April 17 - 21, 2010 - The Monmouth Festival of the Arts; an annual art show held at the Monmouth Reform Temple, featuring several members from our club.

  • May 6 - 8, 2010 - Utah Woodturning Symposium.

  • May 11, 2010 - The monthly meeting. Details to be determined

  • June 12, 2010 - (PENDING) Full day demo by Kurt Hertzog

  • June 8, 2010 - The monthly meeting. Final Show & Tell for the spring season.

  • June 18 - 20, 2010 - This year's AAW National Symposium will be the weekend of June 18th to 20th, 2010 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.  Details such as the demonstrator list and the topics for special interest night are not yet set, but will be posted on the AAW website at:  http://woodturner.org/   If you are thinking of attending, Register early and even earlier for hotel reservations, as close-by rooms disappear quickly.

  • July, August, 2010 - Summer break. No meetings.
